Picture it - Italy 2015. It was a vacation with my grown daughter, Susie and a close friend, Eliza...All three of us had experienced life milestones in recent years, mine was a birthday that rhymes with "nifty". Over time, life had become hectic, and we were all time starved.

Susie was about depart on a five-month, sailing expedition, and it was easy to see that the opportunities to spend quality time together were not as plentiful as they used to be. I had spent months planning this trip to give us all a break and an opportunity to reconnect. It was exactly what we needed. Towards the end of our trip, we dined at an open-air café under the streetlights of Verona and reminisced about our lives, how often close relationships had gotten pushed aside, and the memories of a friend who had recently died too young. We talked about how special this time together had been. Then Susie asked me a question -

"Mom, what do you think you want to do in your second half-century?". And I knew, I just knew, and it was so obvious - I wanted to stop living life by a clock! I wanted to do this for others, just like I’d done for us. I wanted to design fabulous travel experiences for busy people, that allowed them to reconnect, relax, refresh, and recreate with the loved ones they never felt they got to spend enough time with – all in amazing places that offered them clarity, made them laugh, sigh, and genuinely feel alive.
